If we observe carefully in India today every one is running in a rat race and are restless especially the youth. I think today every one is interested in making the money and to have as many comforts as they have en lot of which money can buy! This is just a natural repercussion of the past we had. India got Independence in 1947 there after this is say third / fourth generation which is now acting as parents for the next generation1 During the early period after the independence people have seen lot of poverty, there were teething problems, there was a time when we never had sufficient amount of food grains to feed our people!
Thanks to Green revolution which was implemented and because of this together with white revolution and blue revolution today there is no dearth of food in India. But the poverty through which people have passed during that period left a scar in the minds. So every one of us is interested in making the money and to make our lives comfortable! There is a big competition and rat race amongst the people to become rich!
While doing so the people are also forgetting one thing that they have the responsibility of upbringing of the next generation, which is future India. They are having no time at their disposal to train and teach them the cultural and moral values what we had in he past! Today's parents are liberated and quite a few of them are not having good family atmosphere too because of this make money competition which directly reflects the future of the children they have!
Because of exposure to
modern mass media he children are exposed to western culture, towards which the are getting attracted! In big cities basically from where we get lot of good students are emerging there the schools are also following the western pattern and indirectly encouraging the children to follow the western culture! Today's child and the youth are confused lot! They are living in India and try to follow the western culture! I am not blaming the Western culture! The culture suits the environment they live in! If the children are thrown out of the homes after 15 or 16 , the government takes care of them! And at the later ages the old couple is being looked after by the Government! In India we don't have those facilities. Children are made into responsible Citizens with a hope that they would look after the parents during their old age by the parents!Live in relationship, Single parenting, Homosexual living relationship, having boy friend and girl friends in India which have become popular for last decade or so are the factors having direct influence on the cultural and moral preaching of India which is so rich! This is a pathetic state and leading the youth to frustration and the today's youth is really confused and don't know what to do and what he/she is doing in fact! I think now with the times, these things will also get settled and history will repeat itself and the Indian youth will revert back to old traditional values and culture! Let us hope for the best !
