Other day one of my friend used an oxymoron in one of his comments made on one of my blog on the other site - 'Educated Illiterates' which provoked me to write some thing about this!
I am not going into the definition of these words! In general illiterate people are those who can't read, write and because of this they have limited knowledge about the things which otherwise they could have picked it from written materials like books and news papers!
Similarly Educated people are those who because of their literacy have learnt many things in their lives and
So we shouldn't really feel bad if an illiterate person behaves like a child or an ignorant kid while dealing with some Social or Personal problems as he is having limitations with him because of his being illiterate!
But the problem is with the educated people who in spite of being educated, they don't want to change their traditional convictions and they won't accept the change in the society and they prefer stagnation in the family and in the society also in which they live!
What would you say about an educated man who refuses to send his daughter to a co education school, he sends his daughter to all girls school instead!
What do you feel about an educated man who doesn't allow his educated wife to work in an office and earn some income to increase the family income?
What would you call an educated person who doesn't allow his children to attend a function as it is being conducted by the people who have a different religion from his/her own?
What would you call an educated person, who instead of appreciating the children for helping some one
in distress, scolds them and asks them to mind their own business?
What would you call an educated person who brutally murders one's daughter in the name of 'Honor killing'?
The above posed questions are few examples to quote! There are 'n' number of such questions which make us to think some times, if these people are really educated or they just bought their degrees by paying money like any other commodity from the market!
These people are educated but then for them there is no word like humanity exists in their dictionary, they have no room for other's feelings and emotions, they have no consideration for other's well being, their World is restricted to themselves and their self centered thoughts!
They are educated, they know the roles to be played by them in the family and in the society! They know their responsibilities towards the family and the society! They know that they must be one of those people who should try to bring the progressive change in the society so that one can have better evolved society!
But then their indifferent and adamant behavior towards their family and towards the Society in which they live, make us to call these persons as 'Educated Illiterates' under duress, because of this behavior of theirs! As said by My friend these people are much more dangerous to the Society than the actual illiterate people!
